The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated January 31, 1996, and duly published February 8,
1996, in the North Weld Herald, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of Guy
Grigsby and Amy Fieling for a single family dwelling unit on a lot less than the minimum lot size in
the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, made this a matter of
record. Shani Eastin, Planning Department representative, presented a brief summary of the
proposal and entered the favorable recommendation of the Planning Commission into the record as
written. She explained the parcel became 32.7 acres by court order, and Mr. Morrison clarified the
court order was done with Weld County's input and consent. Guy Grigsby, applicant, was present
and stated he and his wife, Amy Fieling, grow medicinal herbs and bedding plants, which is their sole
source of income. He stated they have been certified for seven years, and the use conforms with
the neighborhood. Responding to questions from the Board, Mr. Grigsby stated three acres are in
herbs and the majority of the cultivated land is under certified alfalfa. He agreed with all conditions
of approval and Development Standards and responded to further questions from the Board
regarding access. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Harbert
moved to approve the request of Guy Grigsby and Amy Fieling for a single family dwelling unit on
a lot less than the minimum lot size in the A (Agricultural) Zone District, based on the
recommendations of the Planning staff and the Planning Commission, with the Conditions of
Approval and Development Standards as entered into the record. The motion was seconded by
Commissioner Webster, and it carried unanimously.
