HomeMy WebLinkAbout960228.tiff HEARING CERTIFICATION DOCKET NO. 96-06 RE: SITE SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT #1104 FOR A SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING UNIT ON A LOT LESS THAN THE MINIMUM LOT SIZE IN THE A (AGRICULTURAL) ZONE DISTRICT -GUY GRIGSBY AND AMY FIELING A public hearing was conducted on February 21, 1996, at 10:00 a.m., with the following present: Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair Commissioner George E. Baxter, Pro-Tem Commissioner Dale K. Hall Commissioner Constance L. Harbert Commissioner W. H. Webster Also present: Acting Clerk to the Board, Shelly Miller Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison Planning Department representative, Shani Eastin The following business was transacted: I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated January 31, 1996, and duly published February 8, 1996, in the North Weld Herald, a public hearing was conducted to consider the request of Guy Grigsby and Amy Fieling for a single family dwelling unit on a lot less than the minimum lot size in the A (Agricultural) Zone District. Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, made this a matter of record. Shani Eastin, Planning Department representative, presented a brief summary of the proposal and entered the favorable recommendation of the Planning Commission into the record as written. She explained the parcel became 32.7 acres by court order, and Mr. Morrison clarified the court order was done with Weld County's input and consent. Guy Grigsby, applicant, was present and stated he and his wife, Amy Fieling, grow medicinal herbs and bedding plants, which is their sole source of income. He stated they have been certified for seven years, and the use conforms with the neighborhood. Responding to questions from the Board, Mr. Grigsby stated three acres are in herbs and the majority of the cultivated land is under certified alfalfa. He agreed with all conditions of approval and Development Standards and responded to further questions from the Board regarding access. No public testimony was offered concerning this matter. Commissioner Harbert moved to approve the request of Guy Grigsby and Amy Fieling for a single family dwelling unit on a lot less than the minimum lot size in the A (Agricultural) Zone District, based on the recommendations of the Planning staff and the Planning Commission, with the Conditions of Approval and Development Standards as entered into the record.
