The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular
session as the Housing Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the
State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial
Center, Greeley, Colorado, November 27, 1995, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chairman and on roll call the following
members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Dale K. Hall, Chairman
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Pro-Tem
Commissioner George E. Baxter
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert
Commissioner W. H. Webster
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Shelly Miller
MINUTES:
Commissioner Kirkmeyer moved to approve the minutes of the Housing
Authority Board meeting of October 23, 1995, as printed. Commissioner
Harbert seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER CONTRACT FOR CDBG FUNDS FOR SOUTHGATE
REPLACEMENT HOUSING WITH COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL
AFFAIRS, DIVISION OF HOUSING, AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN:
Jim Sheehan, Housing Authority Director, explained this contract is for a grant
of $121,200.00 for replacement of three homes which were flooded in June
1995. He stated the funds will be lent for location assistance and reviewed the
key provisions as detailed in the memo to the Board. Mr. Sheehan noted staff
is recommending approval of said contract. Commissioner Baxter moved to
approve said contract and authorize the Chairman to sign, confirming the homes
would not be replaced in Southgate but relocated elsewhere. Commissioner
Kirkmeyer seconded the motion. Responding to questions from the Board, Mr.
Sheehan reiterated the unused funds will be returned to the State and all funds
are lent and repaid, which can then be used for other location assistance
projects. The motion then carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to
and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
