RE: DECLARE CERTAIN EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZE SALE OF SAME TO
RELIABLE COMPUTER- INFORMATION SERVICES/SCT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, State statute and the Weld County Administrative Manual require that all items
disposed of be declared surplus by the Board of County Commissioners, and
WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with a bid proposal from Reliable Computer, and
WHEREAS, the County has determined that certain computer equipment, described as an
ES/9000 and its associated hardware, being more fully described in said proposal which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is no longer required for County use, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a proposal from Reliable Computer to buy
said equipment for and in consideration of the sum of $18,600.00, with Reliable Computer to be
responsible for the de-installation of all equipment, and
WHEREAS,the Board deems it advisable to declare said equipment as surplus and approve
said bid proposal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the abovementioned equipment be, and hereby is, declared surplus.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the bid proposal from Reliable Computer in
the amount of$18,600.00 be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 29th day of January, A.D., 1996.

The following bids were received from five vendors for the ES/9000 and associated
hardware that was listed in our bid request letter:
ECI $13,010.00
Phoenix Computer $16,300.00 (9121 & 3745 only) Must be de-installed and
banded by IBM)
Reliable Computer $18,600.00 (They will de-install)
Computer Atlanta $22,500.00 (Must be de-installed and banded by IBM)
SourceOne $23,800.00 Must be de-installed by IBM (9121 & 3745)
and STK (tapes)
DecisionOne (previously Bell Atlantic Service) quoted 11 hours @ $220.00/hr to de-
install the equipment. Storage Technology estimated $2,200.00 to re-certify existing STK tape
drives and $600.00 to de-install. (New boards or parts for the tape drives would be an extra cost)
IBM quoted $2,757.00 for de-installation of the 9121, 7980/7380's and the 3745.
I recommend that we sell the equipment to Reliable Computer for their bid of
$18,600.00 with Reliable Computer responsible for the de-installation of all equipment.

I would like to inform Reliable Computer that they have bid successfully for the equipment.
Dave Gumbiner has indicated that he would like the 4245 printer. He will confirm his intentions
this week.
