RE: ESTABLISHMENT OF TRI-AREA INTERIM COORDINATED PLANNING
AGREEMENT AD HOC ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND APPOINTMENT OF COUNTY
MEMBERS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, an Interim Coordinated Planning Agreement was executed by the Board of
County Commissioners, the City of Dacono, and the Towns of Firestone and Frederick in
December, 1996, for the purpose of establishing procedures and standards pursuant to which
the parties will move toward greater coordination in the exercise of their land use and related
regulatory powers within the unincorporated areas surrounding each municipality, and
WHEREAS, the Board believes there is a need to establish an ad hoc committee to
provide advice to the parties involved regarding issues concerning the execution of the
agreement and the interpretation of various terms and provisions therein for a period of six (6)
months.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Tri-Area Interim Coordinated Planning Agreement Ad Hoc
Advisory Committee be, and hereby is, established for the purposes set forth herein, with the
understanding that said Ad Hoc Advisory Commitee shall exist only for a period of six (6)
months.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that membership on said Ad Hoc Advisory
Committee shall consist of two (2) members appointed by the Board, two (2) members
appointed by each of the involved municipalities, and one (1) member agreed to by all four
governmental entities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the two Weld County appointed
members shall be Virginia Shaw and John Folsom, and the ninth member whom the Board
agrees to appoint is Charlie Klarich.
