We are a rural area with small children that do occasionally
get out on the road, as does the livestock. The traffic goes
by much to fast as it is now, check with the Sheriffs office
about the numerous complaints and ask us, the residents.
Most of us have horses that we ride on the road, that's part
of why we live here.
The traffic will increase, we already have trucks using our
road to bypass weigh stations,
Unless they dig down and put in a road base, the paving will
have to be redone with in six months, take a look at the hiway
they just did.
We don't want our taxes going up. These are just a few of
the reasons most important to us.
Thank You

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Sullivan:
I am responding to the concerns of "Residents WCR 52" regarding the pavement of WCR 52
between WCR 43 and Hwy. 85.
We do our best to upgrade roads that will benefit local residents and the traveling public. Before
the Board determines which roads to pave, we consider traffic counts, area traffic patterns,
drainage problems, and complaints from private citizens. The Public Works Department receives
a tremendous number of complaints regarding the condition of your road. A recent traffic count
shows that an average of 409 vehicles travel this section of road daily. It is very difficult and costly
to maintain a gravel road with this high volume of traffic.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to comply with everyone's wishes. We feel that it is in the public's
best interest for WCR 52 between WCR 43 and Hwy. 85 to be included on our paving schedule for
1997.
If you have further concerns or problems, please do not hesitate to contact one of the
commissioners or Dave Becker, Public Works Operations Director, at (970)356-4000, ext. 3750.
Sincerely,
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
