Dear Mayor and Board,
This letter is in reference to the Parkview Estates Third
Subdivision that we understand is in process through the Town of
Frederick. We have received a copy of the proposed subdivision and
development plans from Mr. Gary Jennings which are dated February
26, 1995.
While the Town of Firestone supports the subdivision and
residential development of the Parkview Estates in Frederick, we
have the following concerns:
1. The proposed subdivision attempts to vacate the platted
30 foot right-of-way that currently exists along the
south side of McClure Avenue. This right-of-way is
critical, as McClure Avenue is important to the areas
transportation network and this development in
particular.
We request that this McClure Avenue right-of-way be
maintained at 60 feet as it currently exists.
2 The location of the intersection of McClure Avenue and
Aspen Street, as shown of the proposed subdivision,
causes an operational and safety hazard with the
intersection of Fourth Street, as they do not properly
align.
While access to the proposed subdivision from McClure
Avenue has certain merits, it should not be accomplished
unless it can be done in proper conformance with the
existing roadway network.

As transportation planning aspects of this proposed subdivision are
extremely important to the public health, safety and welfare of the
area, we request that you delay any action on this subdivision. We
would suggest that a meeting is arranged between our technical
staffs and the applicant and develop a solution to this problem
that is practical and can be recommended to our respective town
boards. We would be happy to arrange such a meeting early next
week, if that is convenient.
