NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that on the 20th day of July, 1998, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. at
the Keenesburg Town Hall located at 140 South Main, Keenesburg, Colorado, the Board
of Trustees of the Town of Keenesburg will hold a public hearing on a Petition for
Annexation of the property which is the subject of an Annexation Petition and is owned by
Keenesburg School District, RE-3(J), which property is more specifically described in
Exhibit A attached to the Resolution accompanying this Notice. The hearing is for the
purpose of determining and finding whether the area proposed to be annexed meets the
applicable requirements of C.R.S. 31-12-104 and 31-12-105 and Section 30 of Article 2
of the Colorado Constitution, to determine eligibility of the area for annexation and to
determine if the area should be annexed to the Town of Keenesburg. The area proposed
to be annexed is owned by Keenesburg School District RE-3(J) and lies east of and is
contiguous to the current boundary of the Town of Keenesburg. The Petition for
Annexation and accompanying maps are on file in the office of the Town Clerk at the
Keenesburg Town Hall and may be inspected during normal business hours.

RESOLUTION NO. 98-1
A RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE PETITION FOR
ANNEXATION OF PROPERTY OWNED BY THE KEENESBURG
SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-3 (J) IS IN SUBSTANTIAL
COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF C.R.S . 31-
12-107 (1) AND SETTING A DATE FOR A HEARING
BEFORE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF
KEENESBURG, COLORADO TO CONSIDER ANNEXATION OF
THE AREA PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED.
WHEREAS, the owners of 100% of the property have filed a
Petition for Annexation of such property to the Town of Keenesburg,
Colorado; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees has determined that the
Petition is in substantial compliance with the requirements of
C.R.S. 31-12-107 (1) and that a hearing on such annexation should be
scheduled as provided by law.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
TOWN OF KEENESBURG, COLORADO AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1 . The Board of Trustees hereby accepts the above
described Annexation Petition and finds and determines that the
Petition for Annexation of the Property owned by Keenesburg School
District RE-3 (J) and more specifically described in the property
description attached hereto as Exhibit "A" is in substantial
compliance with the requirements of C.R.S . 31-12-107 (1) and Section
30 of Article II of the Colorado Constitution and the Town of
Keenesburg desires to initiate annexation proceedings in accordance
with Colorado law.
Section 2 . The Board of Trustees hereby sets a public
hearing for the zo k{3ay of July, 1998 , at the hour of 7 : 30 p .m. at
the Keenesburg Town Hall, 140 South Main, Keenesburg, Weld County,
Colorado, for the purpose of determining whether the area proposed
to be annexed meets the applicable requirements of C.R.S . 31-12-104
and 31-12-105 and to determine whether the area should be annexed
to the Town of Keenesburg.
Section 3 . The Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of
this hearing once each week for four successive weeks in the South
Weld Sun, the designated newspaper for the Town of Keenesburg,
Colorado.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 18th day of May, 1998 .

ANNEXATION IMPACT REPORT
FOR KEENESBURG SCHOOL DISTRICT RE3 (J) ANNEXATION
The proposed annexation is known as the Keenesburg School
District RE-3 Annexation and it involves the annexation of 25 acres
of land located east of the existing Town of Keenesburg.
The following information is provided with this report :
A. A map of the present boundary of the Town of Keenesburg;
B. A map of the territory consisting of the Keenesburg
School District RE-3 (J) annexation.
1 . The property proposed to be annexed is owned by
Keenesburg School District RE-3 (J) and it is anticipated that the
property will be used for construction of school facility until
such construction commences the property will continue to be used
for agricultural purposes .
2 . No plan exists for the installation of water mains, sewer
lines, or streets and utilities .
3 . Water and sewer service will be provided by the Town of
Keenesburg and other customary municipal services will be provided
by the Town.
4 . All infrastructure and other improvements will be
constructed and paid for by the property owner.
5 . The Districts which exercise control and levy taxes in
the area proposed to be annexed include :
Weld County School District RE-3 (J)
Central Colorado Water Conservancy District
Southeast Weld Fire District
Aims Junior College
Weld Library District
Lost Creek Ground Water Management District
6 . A copy of the draft pre-annexation agreement is available
upon request .
7 . No statement is included regarding the effect of this
annexation upon the Public School District as the property is owned
by the School District .
8 . Fire protection will be provided by the Southeast Weld
Fire Protection District .
