WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado, has been vested with the responsibility for
the zoning and orderly development of Weld County, and
WHEREAS, it is apparent to the Board that there is an urgent
need for a full time County Planner and Coordinator, and
WHEREAS, such services heretofore have been performed by
the members of the Weld County Planning Commission and its employees,
and
WHEREAS, the Board is of the opinion that it would be in the best
interest for the County to employ a full time County Planner, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Planning Commission has recommended
that Burman H. Lorenson is a person knowledgeable in the field of
zoning and comprehensive planning, and he be employed as the Weld
County Planner, and
WHEREAS, the Board is satisfied that Burman H. Lorenson is
a person with vast experience and ability in the field of zoning and planning;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Burman H. Lorenson
be, and he hereby is, appointed the Weld County Planning Director,
effective January 1, 1970, and that he serve at the pleasure of the Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Burman H. Lorenson, as such
Weld County Planning Director, be subject to the direct guidance and
supervision of the Weld County Planning Commission, and that he shall
supervise all County building inspections, zoning, comprehensive planning,
and any and all other related activities.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote, on the 26th day of
November, 1969.
