HomeMy WebLinkAbout972257.tiffRESOLUTION RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD REGARDING VIOLATION OF THE WELD COUNTY BUILDING CODE AND ZONING ORDINANCES - BILLY MATA WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Billy Mata, VI #9700114, is allegedly in violation of the Weld County Building Code and Zoning Ordinances, and WHEREAS, despite efforts by the Planning staff to resolve said matter, the violation has not been corrected, and WHEREAS, on the 14th day of October, 1997, a public hearing was held before the Board of County Commissioners for the purpose of hearing testimony relating to said violation, and WHEREAS, Billy Mata, said property owner, was present at said hearing, and WHEREAS, Department of Planning Services staff has determined the residence on said property to be dangerous to persons under the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to continue said violation for ninety (90) days, during which time the property owner must post and secure said property against entry and make arrangements for the abatement of asbestos in the building on said property. An unoccupied house would cost a minimum of $2000.00 and an occupied house could range between $10-15,000.00. There are no apparent resources in helping Mr. Mata to demolish his house.
