Home My WebLink About960237.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO JANUARY 8, 1996 TAPE #96-01 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, January 8, 1996, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair Commissioner George E. Baxter, Pro-Tem Commissioner Dale K. Hall Commissioner Constance L. Harbert Commissioner W. H. Webster Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Shelly Miller Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Hall moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of January 3, 1996, as printed. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, stated there are no warrants to present. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER GENERAL ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES WITH WELD COUNTY DENTAL SOCIETY AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Richard Rowe, Social Services, stated this agreement is on-going and will provide dental services to low income residents. Commissioner Hall moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Webster seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. 960237 BC0016 CONSIDER GENERAL ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES WITH WELD COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF OPTOMETRISTS AND OPHTHALMOLOGISTS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Mr. Rowe stated this agreement is on-going and will provide vision care services to low income residents. Commissioner Hall moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. CONSIDER AGREEMENT WITH WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY - $10,000.00: Bruce Barker, County Attorney, explained this agreement is for backup services to the dependency and neglect and child support attorney. He stated last year's agreement was for$24,000.00; however, a new attorney is being hired, therefore, only $10,000.00 is needed this year. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve said agreement, and Commissioner Webster seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. CONSIDER AGREEMENT WITH WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY-$55,000.00: Mr. Barker explained this agreement is for Jim Pope's services. Commissioner Hall moved to approve said agreement, and Commissioner Harbert seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
