I apologize for the delay in providing this information to you. The new federal All Families requirement is rate increased to 35%effective October 1, 1998. As you can see, our year-to-date figure is at 33.9%. Your staff is to be congratulated for their efforts to meet this increased rate especially considering the average weekly hours has increased as well. The new federal requirement for the Two-Parent rate is now 90%. Our two-month average is well below that at 39.8%. Meeting the Two-Parent rate will continue to be a challenge we must take seriously. All counties with a two-parent caseload of 15 or more have been advised of a special teleconference call on April 21, 1999 from 1:30 to 2:30 to discuss strategies to meet the two-parent rate. If you are one of these counties,we look forward to your participation in the call. We will continue to work with all counties regarding the work participation rates including problems and solutions. If you have questions regarding the enclosed reports or work participation rates in general, please contact me at(303)866-4404.
