RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY FOR
CHILD PROTECTION AND YOUTH IN CONFLICT ATTORNEY SUPPORT AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Amendment to Agreement for Child
Protection and Youth In Conflict attorney support between the County of Weld, State of
Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the
Department of Social Services, and the Weld County Attorney, for the period of January 1,
1996, through December 31, 1996, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said
amendment, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said amendment, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex -officio Board of Social Services, that the Amendment to Agreement
for Child Protection and Youth In Conflict attorney support between the County of Weld, State
of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of
the Department of Social Services, and the Weld County Attorney be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said agreement.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 24th day of March, A.D., 1997, nunc pro tunc January 1, 1996.

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
BETWEEN WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
AND WELD COUNTY ATTORNEY
This Amendment made and entered into this 24th Day of March 1997, by and between Bruce
Barker, County Attorney, hereinafter referred to as "Contractor," and the Weld County Department of
Social Services, hereinafter referred to as "Department":
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the parties desire to modify their current contract for legal services in order to
increase its funding; and
WHEREAS, the authority exists in the Law and funds have been budgeted, appropriated and
otherwise made available; and
WHEREAS, required approval, clearance and coordination have been accomplished from and with
appropriate agencies.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the parties hereto covenant and agree as
follows:
1. Exhibit I, Item C. The Total Personnel Costs computation shall be increased to $59,000.
2. Exhibit II, Item 1. The Services or Personnel costs. including employee benefits line shall
be increased to $59,000.
3. Exhibit III, Total Costs shall be increased to $59,000.
Except as modified herein, the terms and conditions of the original Agreement together with all exhibits
of the original Agreement, remain in full force and effect.

RE: Amendment to Agreement Between the W Id County J
Department of Social Services and the Weld County Attorney -
Assistant Weld County Attorney Agreement
Enclosed for Board approval is an amendment to an Agreement between the Weld County
Department of Social Services and the Weld County Attorney. The agreement is to provide child
protection and Youth In Conflict attorney support through an Assistant Weld County Attorney for
the Weld County Department of Social Services.
The major provisions of the amendment are as follows:
1. The original term of the agreement remains the same. The term is January 1, 1996 through
December 31, 1996.
2. The reimbursement level of the Agreement has been increased from $57,250 to $59,000.
