RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROAD 392 BETWEEN HIGHWAY 37 AND HIGHWAY 14
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the
Board that 65 MPH speed limit signs be installed on Weld County Road 392 between
Highway 37 and Highway 14, as designated on the Signing Diagram labeled as Exhibit A and
attached hereto, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to
install 65 MPH speed limit signs on Weld County Road 392 between Highway 37 and
Highway 14, as designated on Exhibit A, for the safety of the general public, and said signs
shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 19th day of May, A.D., 1997.

Subject: RESO FOR REPOSTING OF SPEED LIMIT ON WCR 392 -Reply
Looks fine to me. There is one curve in the 16 mile stretch that will be
signed at 45 MPH but that is shown on the signing diagram that will be
attached so I think we are covered.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is in the process of changing the posting on
Highway 392 between U.S. Highway 85 and Highway 37 from 55 MPH to a 65 MPH speed limit.
The Public Works Department requests that Weld County repost WCR 392 between Highway 37
and Highway 14 to a 65 MPH speed limit to match CDOT's reposting. The signing change map is
enclosed.
Please place the following item on the Board's next agenda:
Speed Limit Change to 65 MPH on WCR 392 between Highway 37 an Highway 14.
