The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular
session as the Housing Authority Board in full conformity with the laws of the
State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial
Center, Greeley, Colorado, November 24, 1997, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following
members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner George E. Baxter, Chair
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer
Commissioner W. H. Webster
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther Gesick
Finance and Administration Director, Don Warden
MINUTES:
Commissioner Hall moved to approve the minutes of the Housing Authority
Board meeting of October 27, 1997, as printed. Commissioner Webster
seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
BUSINESS:
NEW: CONSIDER INCLUSION IN HIGH PLAINS HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATION APPLICATION TO NEW CENTURY ENERGY
FOUNDATION: Jim Sheehan, Department of Social Services, stated the High
Plains Housing Development Corporation will be applying to the New Century
Energy Foundation and requested the Housing Authority be included in the
application. Mr. Sheehan stated up to $50,000 is available to fund three
projects, including: Housing Rehabilitation, Down Payment Assistance, and the
Homeownership Education Program. Commissioner Harbert moved to approve
said request. Seconded by Commissioner Kirkmeyer, the motion carried
unanimously.

CONSIDER 1998 HOUSING AUTHORITY BUDGET: Mr. Sheehan stated the
total budget for 1998 is $2,472,358, up 8% from 1997. Mr. Sheehan explained
the various anticipated expenses for the year. Commissioner Kirkmeyer moved
to approve said budget and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by
Commissioner Webster, the motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to
and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 10:35 a.m.
