RESOLUTION
RE: PERMANENT CLOSURE OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 64.5 BETWEEN WELD
COUNTY ROADS 45 AND 47 AND REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING
TRAFFIC REGARDING SUCH PERMANENT CLOSURE
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution #971696 dated August 4, 1997, the Board of County
Commissioners vacated portions of Weld County Roads 64 and 64.5, agreeing to leave said
roads open as long as possible until closure was made necessary by the construction of the
new Greeley-Weld County NS Airport Runway, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has determined that conditions now exist
which make it necessary to permanently close Weld County Road 64.5 to through traffic and to
regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County road by posting signs thereon, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to permanently
close said portion of road and to post the signs as recommended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish that a portion of Weld County Road 64.5,
between Weld County Roads 45 and 47 and as detailed in the Board's Resolution #971696, be
permanently closed, with said closure being effective this date, and further, that standard official
traffic control devices, conforming to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices,
shall be erected on WCR 64.5 at and prior to said closure giving notice of the closure and
warning traffic accordingly.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 28th day of September, A.D., 1998.
