Warden Clerk to t Board BY: O,1 Carol A. Harding Deputy Clerk to the Board cc: Warren Lasell, Assessor 991647 AS0043 l.'* c-r5-p"P Leroy F'. Layer 2344 Bowen Street Longmont, CO 80501 July 14, 1999 Weld County Assessor County Board of Equalization 1400 N. 17th Avenue Greeley, CO 80631 RE: Legal Description: DA-24 BLK24 Dream Acres Exc Coal Parcel #: 131325202009 Account #: R5644186 To Whom It May Concern: 1 would like to object to the valuation placed on this piece of property in Weld County. The valuation of this vacant land has continued to increase while the actual sellable value of'the land is nil. We have tried to sell this particular piece of property within the last year but, because of the oil well on the property, we have been unable to close a deal. The requirements and restrictions of the county make it impossible to use the land for anything, yet, our taxes continue to increase. The oil well has now been redrilled as a gas well and further restricts the use of the land. Hence, we have a piece of property that can not be sold, can not be used but we continue to pay higher taxes on it. We had the property on the market last year and received 25+ offers but they were all rescinded after the prospective buyers were advised that, due to variance restrictions, there was no area left in which to place any type of building. Basically, we continue to own a piece of property that we can not use, we can not sell, but we keep being charged for. I would like to request some type of hearing or something to determine what we can do about this. Leroy F. Layer 991647 Hello
