RE: APPROVE MEMBERSHIP AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE NORTH FRONT RANGE
TRANSPORTATION AND AIR QUALITY PLANNING COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Weld County has been a charter member of the regional Metropolitan
Planning Organization (MPO) known as the North Front Range Transportation and Air Quality
Planning Council, and
WHEREAS, from time to time members of the MPO will be required to contribute a local
match to the various MPO projects, and
WHEREAS, the local match will vary by project in that those projects being of a regional
nature will be split five ways by the participating jurisdictions, and those of a local nature will be
the responsibility of the sponsoring organization, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to participate in the
membership of the North Front Range Transportation and Air Quality Planning Council, and to
contribute its local match assessments to the approved projects of the organization.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Director of Finance and Administration be, and hereby is, authorized
to pay all local match assessments of Weld County to the North Front Range Transportation and
Air Quality Planning Commission from the Public Works budget each year as long as Weld
County remains a member of the organization.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 8th day of September, A.D., 1997.
