SUBJECT: Legal Action Authorization
The Department of Planning Services has scheduled the following violations to be considered at the
January 13, 1998, hearing beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Department of Planning Services is
requesting that the Board review the individual cases and determine whether or not to authorize
legal action to remedy the violations.
VI-9600096 Mendoza, Jose
Sections 20.13.3 and 20.13.4 of the Weld County Building Code Ordinance
Front exterior walls have partially collapsed, building posted as dangerous. Permit BC-9700259 to
remove damaged portions of house, install permanent exterior wall, and use the remaining structure
as storage only has expired without work being started.

Estimates for asbestos and debris removal have been submitted. The house has been posted as
a dangerous building; however, it has not been secured against entry.

The Department of Planning also recommends that the County Attorney be authorized to proceed
with legal action against any other persons occupying the properties, any persons claiming an
interest in the properties, and any persons acting in active concert with the identified parties.
Copies of the violation materials are available at the Department of Planning Services' office or the
Weld County Attorney's office.
