RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROADS 55.5 AND 57.5 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 388
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board
that "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs be installed on Weld County Roads 55.5 and 57.5 at Weld
County Road 388, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install "Stop
Ahead" and "Stop" signs on Weld County Roads 55.5 and 57.5 at Weld County Road 388, for the
safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State manual and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 16th day of October, A.D., 1995.

Traffic Control Devices for WCR 388 at WCR 55.5 and WCR 57.5
Due to the new construction and paving on WCR 388, it is necessary to install a "stop ahead" and
a "stop" where WCR 388 intersects with WCR 55.5 and WCR 57.5.
WCR 388 will now be an established "through road".
1. On WCR 55.5 at the southbound approach to WCR 388, a "stop ahead" and a "stop" sign
should be installed for the safety of the traveling public. WCR 55.5 will remain a gravel
road.
2. On WCR 57.5 at the southbound approach to WCR 388, a "stop ahead" and a "stop" sign
should be installed for the safety of the traveling public. WCR 57.5 will remain a gravel
road.
I recommend the changes are made according to the attached diagrams to protect the safety of the
traveling public. All signing will conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
