Dear Ms. Griego:
We are pleased to inform you that Weld County Department of Social Services has been
selected to receive an award for achieving substantial compliance with the requirements of the
Child Welfare Settlement Agreement (CWSA) during the period from July 1997 to March 1998.
Only four of the ten large counties are being so acknowledged with both a plaque and a $1500
"incentive award". The cash award is offered in hopes of assisting counties to continue their
excellent provision of child welfare services to Colorado's children and families.
We wish to acknowledge your department's performance and thank you for your continuing
progress in complying with the CWSA requirements. We believe that this performance is a
reflection of both the perseverance and quality of your staff and the effective leadership of your
managers.
On Thursday, June 11, 1998, the Child Welfare Division of the Colorado Department of Human
Services will be presenting awards at the 7th Annual Statewide Child Welfare Conference in Vail,
Colorado. It is our hope that you will be able to attend the 7th Annual Statewide Child Welfare
Conference to personally accept the award for Weld County Department of Social Services. If you
desire a scholarship to attend the conference, please contact Art Atwell at(303) 866-7172.
