RE: ESTABLISH PETTY CASH FUND FOR PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended to the Board that a petty cash fund, in the amount
of $50.00 be established in the Public Works Department, and
WHEREAS, after study and review, the Board deems it advisable to establish a petty cash
fund in the Public Works Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Comptroller be, and hereby is, authorized to establish a petty cash fund
in the Public Works Department, in the amount of $50.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 18th day of January, A.D., 1995.

Subject:petty Cash Fund
It would be very advantageous if a petty cash fund could be established at the Public Works
Department.
It is constantly necessary for employees to purchase small supplies that cost a few dollars. At
present, the employee purchases the item with his or her money, brings the receipt in to our
office and we handle the paperwork through your office. As it is necessary to sign for all cash,
the transaction usually takes several days.
Our work force is located in several different shops and sheds all over Weld County. A courier
transports the mail and inter -county business between our facility and downtown. It is extremely
inconvenient for someone to make a special trip to pick up the petty cash.
I am requesting that a petty cash fund be established for $50.00 which would be administered by
_your e. Edna Mata would be responsible for the cash which would be kept in our office
