RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the present State Highway # 37 connecting State Highway # 6
to State Highway # 34 is being deleted from the State Highway System as of
January 1, 1954 in accordance with the revised State Highway System as authorized by
Senate Bill # 170 passed by the last legislature, and
WHEREAS, one need for this connection is due to the fact that the present
traffic volume on this road is 500 vehicles per day, which is an extremely high
volume for a County Road, and
WHEREAS, since this is a heavy travelled road and the only north and south
connecting road for State Highway Nos. 40, 6, and 34 that lies east of State Highway
# 3 ( U.S. Highway 85), and
WHEREAS, the total distance is 21 miles for the connection between State
Highway No. 6 and 34, and
WLEPEAS, this road is the main thoroughfare for cattle and grain trucks
between Oklahoma, Texas, Southwestern Kansas, Southern Colorado and the Northern Colorado
Feeding Area.
NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners, Weld
County, Colorado requests that State Highway No. 37 between State Highway No. 6 and
State Highway No. 34 be retained on the Revised State Highway System.
