An index map showing the regional location of the affected land and all roads and other access to
the area. A standard U.S. Geological Survey topographic quadrangle or equivalent is acceptable.
Scale criteria need not be followed for this map.
The subject properly is located immediately South of Colorado Highway 66 on both sides of Weld
County Road 17, approximately 3.5 miles West of Platteville, Colorado, and approximately 1.5
miles East of lands recently annexed to Mead, Colorado. The mean site elevation is 4795±feet.
Affected lands are predominantly located on cropped lands on the upper terrace above St. Vrain
Creek. The minority lands are in pasture along the flood plain and Cottonwood corridor of St.
Vrain Creek. The topography of the upper terrace is comparatively flat, dropping less than 10±
feet per half mile,until reaching the flood plain of St. Vrain Creek,which determines the
Northwestern limits of any planned resource recovery.
