RE: Regional Director Appointment
I'm pleased to announce the appointment of Don Nitchie as Regional Director for the Northeast
Region of Cooperative Extension as a result of the CE2000 Initiative and the internal search.
Don's appointment will be effective August 1, 1996.
As you know, we conducted an internal search for this position. Don was the only applicant..
However, the search committee, and those who met with Don in Fort Morgan on July 12,
including representatives of Boards of County Commissioners from Washington and Morgan
counties, recommended the appointment of Don. I concurred with those recommendations and
thus have appointed Don. I look forward to his leadership to the Northeast region as
Cooperative Extension fulfills the goals and initiatives of the CE2000 Implementation Plan.
Should you have comments or questions, please contact me or Don Nitchie. Don's office will
continue to be in Akron, 181 Birch, County Courthouse Annex, 80720. Phone: (970) 345-2287
and FAX: (970) 345-2288. Don will continue to serve as Area Director for the Golden Plains
Area.
I appreciate the continuing strong partnership between Cooperative Extension and the counties
in Colorado, particularly those in Northeast Colorado. I look forward to even stronger programs
in the future based on our partnership.
