TC SIGN FIVE YEAR LEASE FOR USE CF FOUR ROOM HOUSE LOCATED
ON THE SOUTH HALF (Si) OF SECTION 22, TOWNSHIP 11 NORTH,
RANGE 6O WEST, OF THE 6th P.M., WELD COUNTY, COLORADO
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners sign the
five year lease for use of four room house located do the Si of Section 22,
Township 11 North, Range 6U West, of the 6th P.M. , Weld County, Colorado,
with M. A. Butler, 681 Liberty Street, Ashland, Oregon, copy of said Lease
hereto attached and made a part of this resolution. The annual rental fee
of $204.00. Lease to expire August 31, 1962.
Reference is hereby made to the records of the Weld County Recorder, Recorded
in Book 14,84 at Page 555 •

LEASE
THIS INDENTURE, Made this 23rd day of August, A. D. 1957, between M. A.
BUTLER, the lessor, and WELD COUNTY, COLORADO, the lessee,
WITNESSETH, That in consideration of the payment of the rent and the
keeping and performance of the covenants and agreements by the said lessee
hereinafter set forth, the said lessor hereby leases unto the said lessee
the following described premises, situate in the County of Weld, State of
Colorado, to wit:
The four room house and adjoining yard and messuage as now
fenced, being a tract 300 feet square, more or less, known
as the labor house or bunk house located on the South Half
(Si) of Section Twenty-two (22), in Township Eleven (11)
North, Range Sixty (60) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same and the appurtenances unto the said lessee
from twelve o'clock noon of the 1st day of September, A. D. 1957, until
twelve o'clock noon of the 31st day of August, A. D. 1962, at and for a
rental, for the full term aforesaid, of $1020.00, which rental shall be paid
in installments as follows: $204.00, being the full rental for the first
year of said term, upon the signing hereof, and $17.00 per month thereafter,
beginning on the 1st day of September, 1958.
Lessor agrees to furnish all material and to install a water line lead-
ing from the well and pressure system located on said Si of said Section 22
into said house, and to furnish and install a suitable sink in said house,
and to install a proper cess pool on said tract and to connect the plumbing
in said house to said cess pool. Lessee agrees to dig the trench required
for such water line installation from said well and water system to said
house.
Lessee shall have the privilege of erecting a maintenance building on
said plot, or adjacent thereto, for use by lessee for equipment and machin-
ery and shall have the right at the expiration of this lease to remove said
building.
Lessor agrees to carry comprehensive insurance insuring said premises

against damage by hail or fire, which, in the event of damage, shall be
payable to said parties as their interest shall appear.
Lessee agrees to keep all said buildings, fixtures and equipment in
good repair and to pay for any damages caused to said premises and equipment
by its occupant or tenants at its own expense, ordinary wear and tear or
loss by fire excepted.
It is understood and agreed by and between the parties that said prem-
ises are being leased by said lessee as quarters for its road maintenance
man or men and shall be occupied by any person or persons so employed at the
election of said lessee and that such person or persons shall have continuous
and uninterrupted right of access to said property and to make such roads,
fills or crossings as shall be deemed necessary for the purposes of its use.
THIS AGREEMENT shall be binding upon the heirs, administrators and
assigns of said lessor.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have hereunto set their hands and

This is to remind you that we have not received voucher for payment
of lease fee due you for the period of August 23, 1956 to August 23, 1959.
In case you have misplaced the extra vouchers sent you, we are enclosing
several. When properly filled out and duly acknowledged by a notary
public or Justice of the Peace, send to this office by return mail.

Dear Mr. Butlers
Kindly find enclosed an original and duplicate lease on
the house you own in Sec 22, T 11 N, R 60 W., Weld County, Colorado. The
County Attorney, Robert G. Smith, has drawn up the Lease and if the Lease
meets with your approval, kindly sign both copies before a notary public
who will acknowledge your signature, and return both copies to our office.
Upon signatures of the Board of County Commissioners, the duplicate copy of
the Lease will be returned to you for your files.
Also, have the voucher dated August, 1957, duly acknowledged
which you should sign before a notary public or a justice of the pease. Return
the signed, acknowledged and sealed voucher to our office along with the two -
copies of the Lease.
For future use, enclosed are four vouchers. You may sign one
each year before the 23rd of August and return to our office for payment of
• the lease fee.
