The larger, the Cameniscb pit, has never been mined. The Larson pit was mined in . the past by sie riot construction, and. the permit was just transferred to CAMAS, which has not continued Y P Y the mining yet • • L This pit will become a 0 -"acre a lake surrounded by 6 acres of pasture when it has been completely mined out. At this time, the lake covers approximately 8 acres)' currently, , it eont•ains frogs, carp, and bluegill fish. The slopes on the pond are fairly steep, and will have to be laid back to 311:117 at the end of the reclamation cycle. Topsoil stockpiles along the eastern edge of the pond have been revegetated, and there appears to be roughly enough to reclaim 3 acres at this time. The boundaries of this site are clearly marked, although no sign has been posted yet, since the succession of operator papers are not yet complete. One matter may require a small techniscal revision to the permitat some point in the future a commitment to keeping the topsoil stockpiles revegetated (the former permit referred to them as temporary stockpiles, which will not be the case in the future mining plan) . 4 DIM estimates that 12.7 acres of groundwater is exposed at this time. Wellhead Executive Director Michael a. Long Division Director 90-007, Revision On July 19, 1995 the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board approved the succession of operators from Siegrist Construction Company to C & M Aggregates Limited for this operation. C & M Aggregates Limited is now the permitted operator of the Camen i sh/Larson Pit, and as such, is responsible for all provisions in Permit No. M-90-007, as well as those specified in the Minerals Rules and Regulations. Siegrist Construction Company is relieved of all responsibilities concerning this operation (See Mineral Rules and Regulations Number 1.12). The Division would like to remind you, as the permitted o erator , about a few things we feel are important: 1. All of the application materials, as amended and su l emente ark- .. integral part of your permit. They have been incorporated into then perm t i. reference. Wp We presume that you have a copy of a l' la of these materials: therefore, none have been enclosed with this mailing. We suggest that you keep a copy of the permit and the permit .application at the mining opera t i on asa reference for operating personnel, to help ensure compliance with the terms of the permit, 2. Changes in the mining and reclamation operations that differ from those described in the permit may require a revision to the permit. We suggest gg consulting the Mineral Rules and Regulations and/or contacting us to determine if a revision to the permit is necessary. Rule 1.10 pertains to Amendments, , Rule 1 r 9 to Technical Revisions, and Rule 1.11 to Conversions. 3 On your permit anniversary date each year, you must submit an annual fee and annual report to us. Please consult Rule 1.15 for 110 Mineral Per-mi is , Rule 2.4 for 112 Permits, and Statute Section 34-32-1 16(1) (a) for 1 i 1 Permits, for the specific annual report requirements applicable i cab l e toyour mine, pp James McFarland If you have any questions, contact me, Sincerely, Allen C. The original case 4tUSR 627 was approved on May 30, 1984 for approximately 71 acres. The permit covered two parcels of land_ The east parcel was owned by Caminish and the west parcel by Laren. I've enclosed a map showing the permtt boundary and the two parcels. The Caminish parcel was later acquired by Wester Doren and they subsequently asked that 'Their i me ts' in USR 627 be vacated. This request did not cover the Larsen Interests, The County subsequently vacated both the interests of Western Dairymen and Larsen leaving Larsen without a Use by Special Review. It appears to me that the County made a mistake by not just vacating Western Dairymen's interest as requested It does not seem fair to me that the County now requires Larsen and Cooley to go back through the entire pro s&. Could you ask the County Attorney first of all if they agree with my interpretation of what happened and, secondly, if there is some way to reinstate the special use permit for the Larsen property. We'll do whatever is necessary but I think that the County might have some responsibility here to help correct this. I am sending copies of all other permits as you requested. All air, discharge, MLRB, and other permits are in place. Please tali as we would like to get this cleaned up as soon as possible. am 11/04/97 16:00 TX/RX NO.9069 1.001 1-1004/1997 15: 46 31332744277 PAUL G GESSO INC PAGE 02 • il 'a I tlig ,1-7 Si? ormo eetivathricY i r Y d s P Clic 7 ) 11JO4f9? 16:00 TX/RX N0.9069 P,O42 • COLORADO November 3, 1997 Dorothy Larson 10706 WCR Longmont, CO 80504 DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING LR CL Env PHONE (970) 353-6100, EXT.3540 FAX (9 0) 352-6312 * WELD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES v ; 1400 N. 17TH AVENUE 7 - GREELEY, COLORADO 80631 r Subject: VI -9700196, Legal description: Part of the W2NW4 of Section 10, Township 2N, Range 68W, Weld County, Colorado Dear Ms. Larson: It has come to the attention of the Department of Planning Services' staff that the uses on your property (10706 WCR 7) may not be in compliance with the Weld County Zoning Ordinance.
