RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE TARPS FOR TRUCKS BID -
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for the Tarps for Trucks Bid for the Public Works Department, Bid Request No.
B9800194, due to a new law effective September 1, 1998, requiring trucks be covered with a
tarp, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-day
waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the Tarps for Trucks Bid for the Public
Works Department, Bid Request No. B9800194 be, and hereby is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from O.J. Watson Company,
Inc., be, and hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 12th day of August, A.D., 1998.

The Weld County Public Works Department is requesting an emergency approval of the tarps bid.
The Public Works Department recommends that the Board of Weld County Commissioners approve
the bid from O.J. Watson Company, Inc., low bidder. The total amount of all tarps is $12,113.
