RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROAD 64.5 AT INTERSECTIONS OF BOTH WELD COUNTY ROADS 45 AND 47
AND WELD COUNTY ROAD 62 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 47
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the
Board that "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs be installed on Weld County Road 64.5 at
intersections of both Weld County Roads 45 and 47, to ensure safety to the traveling public,
and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the
Board that "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs on Weld County Road 47 at Weld County Road 62 be
moved to Weld County Road 62 at Weld County Road 47, making Weld County Road 47 the
"through" road, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to
install "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs on Weld County Road 64.5 at intersections of both Weld
County Roads 45 and 47, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to
the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to move the "Stop"
and "Stop Ahead" signs on Weld County Road 47 at Weld County Road 62 to Weld County
Road 62 at Weld County Road 47, making Weld County Road 47 the "through" road, for the
safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic
Control Devices.

SUBJECT: Traffic Control Devices at Intersections of
WCR 64.5 and WCR 45 and WCR 64.5 and WCR 47
Due to the construction and paving of WCR 45 and WCR 47 near the Airport Project, these roads
are now considered "through" roads.
Therefore, a "stop ahead" and a "stop" sign is needed on WCR 64.5 to the approach of WCR 45 in
the westbound lane. Also a "stop ahead" and a "stop" sign is needed on WCR 64.5 to the approach
of WCR 47 in the eastbound lane.
I recommend these changes be made according to the attached diagrams to protect the safety of the
traveling public. All signing will conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

Currently, there is a stop sign on WCR 47 at the approach to the intersection at WCR 62. Due to
the paving of WCR 47 for the Airport Project, WCR 47 is now considered the "through" road at this
intersection.
