Thence' running due North one half mile to the Northwest corner of said S.W.-+ thereof, the same being a sttip of land 30 feet wide off of the entire West Side of the West Half of the S.W.+ of said section 33. I desire to ack- nowledge the receipt of your favor of the 3rd inst., enclosing a sketch of the proposed road through my property on .the Big Thompson, which you sent by direction of the Honorable Board of County Com- missioners of Weld County. As .you are doubtless aware, I have, on several occasions, gone over the line of this proposed road, and 'on each occasion I was forced to the conclusion that the damage to my property by the con- struction of such a road through it would far outweigh any problem- atical benefit to be derived therefrom, and therefore felt myself reluctantly compelled to oppose the construction of such a road. It must be remembered that a very good road runs through the center of Sec . 32, cutting off a slice of my property on the west side, this road being less than half a mile from the proposed road on the north and just half a mile on the South. As there is also a County road along the north line of 32, which meets this mid-section road through 32, I do not therefore think that there is any necessity for saddling the County`.Urith the expense of making another road, especially so as it would so materially damage my land. The road as proposed would cut off portions of my land between it and the Big Thompson into such irregular and small pieces as to practically make it unsaleable, and in the event of a road being granted, I should certainly expect to be paid the full value of such land so cut off and isolated; the amount of such land would have to be determined by survey, and I would expect to receive the price per acre for such land as is now being paid in that immediate neighbor- hood. There would also have to be a payment for the acreage consumed by the road alone, also at the current rate. Then I presume the fencing of same would be taken care of by the County. As I have had no official intimation as to what the damages which the Honorable Board of County Commissioners have agreed to pay, I cannot, of course, say definitely whether or not such damage as- allowed, would be commensurate with the actual damages incurred. I would, therefore, be obliged if you will give me specific details on this head. I would also be obliged if you will kindly lay this letter before your Board at its next meeting.
