RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING SHOW CAUSE HEARING FOR REVOCATION
OF SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT #961 FOR AN OPEN-PIT GRAVEL MINING
OPERATION - KOBOBEL
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, a hearing before the Board was held on the 12th day of January, 1998, to
consider revocation of Special Review Permit#961 for an Open-Pit Gravel Mining Operation for
William Kobobel, and
WHEREAS, at said hearing of January 12, 1998, the Board deemed it advisable to
continue said matter to March 16, 1998, and
WHEREAS, William Kobobel is the owner and operator of said facility, located on
property described as part of the NE%<NE'/ of Section 29, part of the SE'/ of Section 20, and
part of the SWY of Section 21, all in Township 2 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P.M., Weld
County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kobobel was unable to attend said hearing on March 16, 1998, due to
having broken his leg, and
WHEREAS, the Board, after hearing all of the testimony presented, deemed it advisable
to continue this matter to April 13, 1998, at 10:00 a.m.; and to consider the terms of the
proposed Road Improvements Agreement at the regular Board Meeting on March 30, 1998.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that this matter be, and hereby is, continued to April 13, 1998. at 10:00
a.m.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, that the proposed Road Improvements Agreement with William Kobobel be
considered at the regular Board Meeting scheduled for March 30, 1998, at 9:00 a.m.

SUBJECT: Kobobel Show Cause
Drew informed me today that he received a call from Mr. Kobobel's daughter stating Mr. Kobobel
fell down and broke his leg Saturday night. Apparently he had surgery yesterday (March 8), and
will not be able to attend the March 16th Show Cause Hearing. I told Drew we would have to call
the hearing, and the Board may continue the matter at that time. He suggested it be continued
about a month to ensure Mr. Kobobel enough time to attend; however, Drew will be prepared to
discuss the case on the 16th if you wish.

Subject: Kobobel Hearing March 16th
Mr. Kobobel's daughter called this morning to report that Bill fell down and
broke his leg Saturday night and underwent surgery yesterday. He will
be unable to be at the hearing March 16th,one week from today. Carol
Harding said she would inform the Commissioners but that the hearing will
still have to proceed. I will ask for a 30 day continuance at the hearing
but will also be prepared if the Commissioner wish to discuss the case.
