Box 187 Fort Lupton, CO. 80621 i e—' i Ref Letter dated September 25, 1996 : '-' Notice to Enter Property New Drilling Operations :4 1 Conrad Hopp Jr. Gas Unit#2 u i SW/4NE/4 Section 35-T3N-R68W Weld County,Colorado Dear Sir, It is my understanding that Amoco has the entitlement to drill an additional well in the southeast quarter of section 35.The center of such quarter has two primary ownership's. Siegrist and it's affiliates have surface and mineral rights in the northwest, northeast and southwest quarters. The southeast and southwest quarter is primarily owned by the Slovik family. The Siegrist property has been a mining operation for the past fifteen years, and such property will be filled with water within the next several months. The property remaining is a berm which separates the river from the lake area. The area available for drilling is very restrictive and would not allow a semi-truck to turn around. The berm area also has potential for a riding and bike trail in conjunction with the westerly Barber Ponds. A small partial of property owned by the Sloviks',which is on the north side of the river in the northwest corner, of the southeast quarter comprises several acres. This property has never been mined and is very isolated. It is the general feeling of both Slovik and Siegrist that this property should not be disturbed and should be left as open space. Many large trees exist. Siegrist has suggested that Amoco pursue a well location in either the southwest or southeast quarter. There is a fifty foot easement controlled by Siegrist on County Road 9 3/4, which begins at County Road 24 3/4,and goes northerly through the Slovik property to the St. Vrain River. This easement could be used for access as well as pipelines,of which Siegrist has indicated that they would allow such use within the easement. Slovik however opposes drilling any such well in any of their properties on the south side of the St. Vrain River. Siegrist also opposes any well locations north of the river because of the various reasons as outlined above. It would therefore appear that neither Slovik or Siegrist would consent to any of these potential well locations or would agree to any additional easements for the benefit of Amoco Production. Siegrist and Slovik therefore wish to be included in any further negotiations with the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission regarding Amoco's demands. In addition, Siegrist and Slovik are prepared to pursue other avenues of relief through the Division of Minerals and Geology, the State Wildlife Service, the Weld County Commissioners and the Mineral Conservation Act. -1-liY0-( 962165 _ .___. Siegrist and Sloviks' are desirous in cooperating with Amoco in their endeavors, however the potential wellhead location as proposed by Amoco are not in the property owners best interest.
