I own 320 acres of farmland lying west of WCR 27.5 and north of the landfill. Changes to Knister Farms irrigation system, neighbor and boundary problems and access problems arise ONLY because of a new proposed alignment of WCR 27.5. For the last hundred years the roadway has been the boundary between the existing Knister and Spomer farms. The land-on the west side of the road is a very small crescent area, is not farmable and is functionally part of our wetland drainage slough. It is the natural de facto boundary between these properties. It is in a wetlands area and it should be left undisturbed in keeping with the true intent of the EPA and Corps guidelines for wetlands preservation. This roadway should be made the legal boundary between these properties. In this situation this is the only thing that makes good sense. We have repeatedly expressed these andadditional concerns to Weld County staff about solving problems NOW with non-farm neighbors, changes to our irrigation system and underground pipe plans, and old and new access points needed to keep Knister Farms as a viable, on-going farm operation -- all of which are a direct result of proposed changes to WCR 27.5.
