Re: Resignation
Dear Monica:
I am in receipt of the February 15, 1996 letter from the Board of County Commissioners ("the Board")
regarding my absenteeism form the Planning Commission ("the Commission") which I am sure you are
aware of. I agree entirely with the decision of the Board regarding absences in relation to consistency on
the Commission. I apologize for my recent absences and I regret my inability to better juggle my workload
with my duties on the Commission.
When I accepted appointment to the Commission I was at that time one of seventeen employees in my
current capacity. Today I am the only employee in this capacity which has obvious implications on my
job duties, workload and time management. I have tried to the best of my abilities to maintain my level
of community involvement, volunteer activities, etc. with respect to my career, yet it has become clear to
me over the past couple of months that I am simply not able to continue with certain commitments while
maintaining a respectable level of performance.
It is with great regret that I must resign my appointment as District Three Planning Commissioner effective
as of the date of this letter. I can assure you that it was never my intention to not fulfill my full
commitment to the Commission. I hope that this decision will not adversely impact the Commission in
terms of lack of quorums until I am replaced.
I have greatly enjoyed the time I have spent on the Commission as well as the relationships I have
encountered with the other Commissioners and Planning Staff. I have a great deal of respect for the
Commission and Staff and the tremendous job that is undertaken with respect to the current growth issues
prevalent in Weld County. Good luck in the future and please do not hesitate to call me with any questions
or concerns regarding this or any other matter which you feel I could be of assistance.
