OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. FOR WELD COUNTY LIBRARY:
WHEREAS, by resolution, this Board did on October 21, 1953, appoint
S. Robert Houtchens of Greeley, Colorado, as one of the Trustees of the Board
for Weld County Library, to hold office until May 1, 1960, re-appointed Mr.
Houtchens on May 11, 1955, to hold office until May 1, 1960, and
WHEREAS, S. Robert Houtchens has submitted his resignation to take
effect immediately, and this Board has accepted Mr. Houtchens resignation, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees for Weld Canty Library consists of five
members as provided by law a vacancy now exists, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees for Weld Ccunty Library has recommended
the appointment of William S. Garnsey III of Greeley, Colorado, to fill the un-
expired term of S. Robert Houtchens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado, do hereby appoint William S. Garnsey III of Greeley, Colo-
rado, as a Trustee of the Board of Trustees for Weld Ccunty Library to fill the un-
expired term of S. Robert Houtchens, to hold office until May 1, 1960.
The above and foreging resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following votes

Gentlemen:
I am writing this letter on behalf of The Board of The Weld County
Library which has just learned that Mr. Robert Houtchens is preparing
his resignation as a member of the Board.
We had expected this and at our last meeting the names of several
individuals were mentioned, At that time it was the unanimous wish
of the Board that the name of William S. Garnsey III be submitted to
you in connection with the appointment of a successor to Mr. Houtchens.
I believe the Board's attitude was influenced by the fact that Mr. Houtchens
has contributed so very much to the Library and only someone of varied
interests and known ability should be considered. I might add that Mr. Garnsey's
mother was one of the original sponsors of the Weld County Library almost
30 years ago.
We will appreciate your consideration in this matter.
