RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROAD 52 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 27.5
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the
Board that "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs be installed on Weld County Road 52 at Weld County
Road 27.5, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to
install "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs on Weld County Road 52 at Weld County Road 27.5, for
the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State manual and
specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 16th day of September, A.D., 1996.

From Traffic Control Devices at the Intersection of WCR 27.5 (aka
Subject: 77th Avenue) and WCR 52 (aka 49th Street)
New construction and paving is being done on WCR 27.5 from WCR 54 (aka 37th Street)to WCR
378. Currently,traffic is being controlled at the intersection of WCR 27.5 and WCR 52 by a "stop
ahead" and a "stop" sign on WCR 27.5 at the approach to WCR 52. Once the paving is completed,
WCR 27.5 will be established as the "through" street. I recommend that Weld County remove the
existing traffic control devices on WCR 27.5 and place the "stop" and "stop ahead" signs on WCR
52 at the approach to WCR 27.5.
I recommend these changes be made according to the attached diagrams to protect the safety of the
traveling public. All signing will conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
