This culminated in the execution of a federal search warrant and subsequent seizure of several motorcycles and other property. One of the items seized was a Honda gas generator. The generator was found to have the serial number and identification tag removed from the frame. This made identification of the owner impossible. The victims were contacted and identified the stolen motorcycles, however, no one claimed the generator. This generator has been in our custody since November, 1995. Manager Richard Bauer contacted agent Kenneth Coffey of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Agent Coffey reported all defendants pled guilty in federal court and are currently in federal prison. No charges were filed in Weld County Court. We are requesting that the Honda generator be converted to the Weld County Sheriffs Office for use by the Weld County Bomb Team. This item cannot be sold at auction due to the state statute making it illegal for a citizen to possess an item with a defaced (removed)serial number. If you have any questions please contact me.
