Box 758 Greeley, CO 80632 Dear Mr. Hall: The Colorado Historical Society has completed its review of general grant applications to the State Historical Fund for the March 1st deadline. Grants were awarded to 69 projects in 35 counties; the total amount awarded for this round was $4,604,142. The funds are derived from the passage of the constitutional amendment in November 1990 permitting limited gaming in Central City, Black Hawk and Cripple Creek. This round, we are proud to announce that the Black American West Museum was granted an award of $85,000 for the acquisition and stabilization of the Dearfield Townsite in Weld County. Over the past three years, the Colorado Historical Society, through the State Historical Fund, has supported a number of projects in Weld County. Please see the enclosed list of all projects funded to date, which is arranged alphabetically by county. Applications for the next round of the State Historical Fund grants program are currently available. The deadlines for the next mini -grant and general grant round is August 15, 1995. Potential applicants within your county can obtain an application packet by contracting the State Historical Fund offices at (303) 894-2525.
