RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY
ROAD 86 AT WELD COUNTY ROAD 33
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board
that"Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs be installed on Weld County Road 86 at Weld County Road 33,
to ensure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are necessary for
the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install "Stop
Ahead" and "Stop" signs on Weld County Road 86 at Weld County Road 33, for the safety of the
general public, and said signs shall conform to the State manual and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 6th day of May, A.D., 1996.

Subject: Traffic Control Devices for the Intersection of WCRs 86 and 33
There is a need to change the traffic control devices at the intersection of WCR 86 and WCR 33.
Currently, there is a"stop ahead" and a "stop" sign on WCR 33 to the approach of WCR 86 in both
the northbound and southbound lanes .
WCR 33 is now considered the "through" road due to realignment, traffic volume, and bridge
(33/86A)replacement on WCR 33. The traffic control signs need to be removed from WCR 33 and
placed on WCR 86 in both the eastbound and westbound lanes to the approach of WCR 33.
I recommend these changes be made according to the attached diagrams to protect the safety of the
traveling public. All signing will conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
