RE: ACQUISITION OF REAL ESTATE FOR GREELEY-WELD COUNTY AIRPORT
AUTHORITY FOR USE BY COLORADO AIR NATIONAL GUARD AND OTHER AIRPORT
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Greeley -Weld County Airport Authority is desirous of acquiring a land
parcel consisting of approximately ten acres, more or less, in a location adjacent to existing airport
property, and
WHEREAS, the purpose and use of this land shall be for expansion of existing Colorado
Air National Guard facilities presently located on airport property, and for other airport purposes,
and
WHEREAS, the Airport Authority has requested that the Greeley City Council and Mayor
and the Board of Commissioners of Weld County agree to purchase the described property for the
abovementioned purposes, and
WHEREAS, the Airport Authority has requested that the City of Greeley and Weld County
participate equally in providing those monies necessary to acquire the described property in the
amount of $15,000.00 each, plus financing of $120,150.00, and
WHEREAS, the City of Greeley and Weld County shall share equally in the proceeds of any
financial reimbursements for acquisition costs that may be provided by sponsoring federal, state,
or local agencies, and
WHEREAS, the Airport Authority requests that the described real property shall be
purchased, and a Deed of Trust shall be provided in the name of the Greeley -Weld County Airport
Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, hereby agrees to the purchase of the abovementioned land by the Greeley -
Weld Airport Authority and the terms requested.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board hereby agrees to contribute $15,000.00 in
1995 to the Greeley -Weld County Airport Authority through a supplemental appropriation.
