RE: APPROVE VACATION OF PORTION OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 64.5
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Greeley-Weld County Airport NS Runway is currently under
construction and will, upon its completion, run northward from the current Airport site to a
location north of Weld County Road 64.5, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners dated August 4,
1997, the Board did vacate that portion of Weld County Road 64.5 where it intersected and
crossed the new NS Runway, and
WHEREAS, by letter dated May 3, 1999, Mike Reisman, Airport Manager, requested the
Board of County Commissioners to vacate an additional portion of Weld County Road 64.5, as
described in the attached Exhibit "A," and shown on the attached Exhibit "B," because said
portion of the roadway is no longer necessary for use by the public and/or maintenance by
Weld County, and
WHEREAS, by various notices mailed to them, adjoining landowners were notified of a
public hearing set for June 14, 1999, to consider the vacation of said portion of Weld County
Road 64.5, in accordance with the requirements of Section 43-2-303(2)(b), C.R.S., and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners convened said public hearing on
June 14, 1999, and heard testimony and reviewed all other evidence presented therein by staff
and the public, and
WHEREAS, the evidence showed that the vacation of that portion of Weld County Road
64.5, which is described in the attached Exhibit "A," and shown on the attached Exhibit "B," will
not leave any land adjoining the roadway without an established public road or private access
easement connecting the land with another established public road, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners now deems it advisable to vacate said
portion of Weld County Road 64.5, with said vacations to become effective at the time and
upon the conditions set forth below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that such portion of Weld County Road 64.5 which is described in the
attached Exhibit "A," and shown on the attached Exhibit "B," be, and hereby is, vacated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that there be, and hereby is, reserved for
existing utilities within said vacated roadway an easement for the continued placement,
maintenance, repair, and replacement of such utilities.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Clerk to the Board be, and hereby
is, directed to record this Resolution in the records of the Weld County Clerk and Recorder.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 14th day of June, A.D., 1999.

Dear Sirs:
Last Thursday I sent to you by certified mail a letter which informed you of a hearing regarding
the vacation of a portion of Weld County Road 64'/2. Unfortunately, the letter listed two
different dates for the hearing. The correct date is June 9, 1999. The hearing will take place on
that date at 9:00 a.m. in the Board of County Commissioners' First Floor Meeting Room, Weld
Centennial Center Complex, 915 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado.

RE: Hearing for the Vacation of a Portion of
Weld County Road 64 %2
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Howard:
On Wednesday, June 9, 1999, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
will consider the vacation of a small portion of the right-of-way for Weld County Road ("WCR")
64 V2 as it is located in the northeast quarter of Section 26, Township 6 North, Range 65 West of
the 6th P.M., Weld.County, Colorado. A legal description and plat of the right-of-way to be
vacated are enclosed.
The vacation is due to the fact that the Greeley-Weld County Airport's north-south runway has
been extended into the northeast quarter of Section 26-6-65. Additionally, a cul-de-sac for WCR
64 '/2 has been provided easement status by Wayne and Kris Howard. The approximately 181.97
feet of the roadway do not appear to be necessary for use as Weld County Road right-of-way.
