We are concerned about the substantial impairment of our access occurring because of the new alignment of WCR 27.5. According to our agreement reached at the site, this is to confirm that Weld County will construct WCR 27.5 access for Knister Farms: (1) from the south on a permanent deeded easement for the benefit of Knister Farms through Waste Management and on Knister Farms property just past our historic point of access on the west side of the concrete manhole to accommodate the existing air standpipe for the water line, (2) south of the Russian olive trees tying into our dam on the southmost pond, 3) at Mike Rogers' welded memorial gate, (4) at the field access point across from Spomer's, and (5) a field access point adjacent to Larry Kammerzell's fence. These access points are numbered on the enclosed sketch plan. I appreciated the fact that you took the time to meet with us and we do not want to hinder your project to upgrade and to pave WCR 27.5. Thank you for proposing this agreed solution for Knister Farms where Weld County or its contractors: (1) will use portions of the existing road wherever possible, and (2) where not possible to use the existing road, Weld County or its contractors will construct a new roadbase bringing it up to the same standard as the existing county road as to compaction, width, roadbase, well-graveled top, crowned cross-section and maintainable borrow pits for snow melt and water runoff. As we discussed at the site, the underlying soils here are known to be shales and clays which, when wet, become greasy slick and impassable for our big tractors, farm trucks and wide implements, which is why we agreed that new sections of road will be constructed to at least existing county road standards so that we will be able to maintain them with a minimum of difficulty.
