SERVICE AUTHORITY BOARD
AUGUST 18, 1998
The Weld E-911 Emergency Telephone Service Authority Board met in regular session Tuesday, August
18, 1998, at noon, at the Weld County Centennial Center.
ROLL CALL:
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dave Bressler. Present were Board Members Dave
Bressler, Pat Cote, Connie Harbert, Margie Martinez, Gary Sandau, and Terry Urista; and staff
members Kent Donahue, Jim McEachron, and Linda Weingardt.
MINUTES:
Pate Cote moved, seconded by Margie Martinez, that the minutes of the July 21, 1998, meeting be
approved as presented. Minutes were unanimously approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Staff Report: The New Raymer tower is completed and is working as of this morning.
Staff is still working on the agreement with AT&T Wireless. The latest revision was received
this past Monday and includes the changing of the entity and the person required to sign the
agreement(it will be the Chairman of the PSAP Board). When the final agreement is received,
Kent will forward copies to each Board member for review and vote at the following meeting.
There were 223 EMD calls in July and the dispatchers are quite comfortable and excited with
working with the Pro QA software.
Staff is looking at the cost of an interface where the EMD software will talk to the CAD system.
Calls coming to the two wireless towers in the Fort Lupton area will be routed to the County
Dispatch Center and if necessary will be re-routed to Fort Lupton.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Treasurer's Report: Terry Urista moved, seconded by Gary Sandau, to approve payment of the
monthly bills totaling $10,966.02, which includes $10.937.37 to US West for monthly service
charges; $28.65 to Wiggins for August name and number charges. Motion was unanimously
approved.
2. Discussion was held on EMS Week(in May)and what could be done to educate the public about
EMD. It was discussed that perhaps each day of the week could be devoted to providing
information to a different part of the County. It was also discussed that perhaps this could be
done during Fire Week(in October).
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be held September
15, 1998, at the Greeley Police Department.
