I am in receipt of your letter dated June 24, 1999. As you have pointed out, growth in Weld
County is occurring at an unprecedented pace and, as such, the Board of County Commissioners
is well aware of the ramifications of this growth.
Since 1972, Weld County has operated under a county land use document. This document, the
Weld County Comprehensive Plan is developed by citizens to assist elected officials and county
staff in carrying out the desires of Weld County citizens. I have enclosed a copy of this plan for
your review.

Dear Commissioners
It has always been a concern of mine when I see a new housing
development going in our county because I keep wondering where
all the water is coming from to maintain them.
I have never written to anyone till now because the potential
problem is in my neighborhood. Water is still a great concern
but also the problem of sewage as it is on the doorstep of the
St. Vrain river flood plan. A very distinct possibitiy that a
leak in the system would cause a large amount of polution for
everyone down stream. .
The other concern is that there does not seem to be much control
on the growth pattern in the county, If someone decides they
want to sell the.:.farm to the highest bidder and watch houses
grow instead of crops it is a done deal.
Would be greatly appreciated if you could send me some information
on what you as commissioners have established in the records for
regulations on the subject.
