The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular
session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the
State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial
Center, Greeley, Colorado, January 29, 1996, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following
members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair
Commissioner George E. Baxter, Pro-Tem •
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Constance L. Harbert
Commissioner W. H. Webster

Acting Clerk to the Board, Shelly Miller
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Hall moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social
Services meeting of January 24, 1996, as printed. Commissioner Harbert
seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for
approval by the Board in the amount of $415,624.13. Commissioner Webster
moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner
Baxter seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARD FOR
PLACEMENT ALTERNATIVES COMMISSION FUNDS UNDER WELD COUNTY
FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM WITH WELD COUNTY DIVISION OF HUMAN
SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Judy Griego, Social Services
Director, explained this notification of award concludes the bid process, and the
Placement Alternatives Commission recommends approval of the bid from
Human Services. She stated the term of the award is January 1, 1996, through
September 30, 1996, with the total reimbursement amount being $90,191.00.

Ms. Griego further explained Human Services agrees to provide $7,486.00
in-kind match and $2,525.00 cash match and will serve 75 at-risk families, with
the support of 25 family advocates in the Greeley area and southern Weld
County. She referred to her memo regarding the types of support services
provided, including crisis and case management. Commissioner Baxter moved
to approve said award and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Harbert
seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
CONSIDER NOTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AWARD FOR
PLACEMENT ALTERNATIVES COMMISSION FUNDS UNDER WELD COUNTY
FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM WITH CATHOLIC CHARITIES AND AUTHORIZE
CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated this notification of award concludes the bid
process, and the Placement Alternatives Commission recommends approval of
the bid from Catholic Charities. She stated the term of the award is January 1,
1996, through September 30, 1996, with the total reimbursement amount being
$89,996.00. Ms. Griego further explained Catholic Charities agrees to provide
$7,470.00 in-kind match and $2,520.00 cash match and will serve 142 at-risk
families, with the support of 25 family advocates in southern Weld County. She
referred to her memo regarding the types of support services provided, including
crisis and case management. Commissioner Harbert moved to approve said
award and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion,
which carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and
respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
