RE: APPROVE HUD SECTION 8 VOUCHER AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, a representative from the Weld County Housing Authority presented
to the Board of County Commissioners a request to determine whether there is a
need in Weld County for twenty-five (25) housing vouchers and certificates for
low-income families, as explained in the request letter, a copy of which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that such a need does exist in Weld
County and deems it in the best interest of Weld County to advise the U. S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) of said determination.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that a need does exist in Weld County for twenty-five (25)
housing vouchers and certificates for low-income families, and that HUD shall be
advised of the same.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the households types proposed to
be served by the application are compatible with the Greeley Weld CHAS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the above determination shall be
final, and no additional comments will be submitted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 28th day of September, A.D. , 1992.

Re: HUD Section 8 Resolution
Date: September 25, 1992
As part of the Section 213 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974
HUD considers the comments of the general unit of local government when
considering applications from housing authorities. We recently submitted an
application to HUD for twenty five Section 8 units. HUD has requested that the
unit of general local government submit a letter (resolution will suffice)
commenting on the need for the units as well as a statement indicating that the
application is consistent with the CHAS. The resolution should also include a
statement indicating that the comments shall be final and that there would be no
additional comments.
I have enclosed a model resolution used in a prior year to satisfy this
requirement. The resolution does need to be amended to reflect the consistency
with the CHAS. The following language is suggested:
/ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the households types

Greeley/Weld CHAS.
This requirement was discussed at the September 21st work session.
Request that this resolution be placed on the Board of Commissioners agenda for
consideration by the Board.

WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado , and
WHEREAS , a representative from the Weld County Housing
