Denver 2, Colorado Right-of-Way Engineer
Dear Sirs:
On May 13, 1953, your Department furnished this office
with descriptions and drawings of right-of-way requirements
for proposed Project S 0024(8), Briggsdale-Buckingham.
Right-of-way negotiations have been carried on since
that date with all parties and all right-of-way purchases
have been completed and deeds have been obtained to all
parcels except two (2) and five (5), which land is owned
by Doris V. DeFord et al of Allenspark, Colorado. The
land covered by these two parcels is only the present road
as it now exists except on Parcel 5 where a thin strip of
land, approximately three to five feet wide on the right
hand side between the present fence line and the fifty foot
proposed right-of-way line is to be acquired. The acreage
of land contained in this strip is 0.146 acres. It is under-
stood from talking with the Department Engineers, that the ,strip
of adiitional right-of-way to be acquired will not interfere
with construction, but is only for the purpose of making a
uniform width right-of-way.
Inasmuch as all parcels of land that are actually necessary
for the construction of the project have been purchased and also
in view of the fact that the DeFord property is an estate and
will require possibly some little time to get all the necessary
signatures, it is desired that work be allowed to proceed on
the project while the deed is being signed for the Parcels 2 and
5.
If advertisement for bids for the project can be taken
immediately in order that work may proceed and be completed this
summer, it will be greatly appreciated by the Board of Commissioners
of Weld County.
Very truly yours,
/O y/off
