RE: Petition for Referendum on an Enacted Resolution
Commissioners:
Pursuant to the requirements of the Weld County Home Rule Charter and the Colorado
Election Law, the Petition for Referendum on an Enacted Resolution filed by the
Concerned Citizens for Weld County' s Future Committee represented by W. D. Farr,
Robert G. Tointon and Thomas E. Hellerich has been reviewed along with the supple-
mental petitions and amended circulator affidavits.
The results of the review are as follows:
Sufficient signatures 3047
Insufficient signatures 1162
Pursuant to the requirements of the Weld County Home Rule Charter and Colorado
Election Law, the number of valid signatures appear to be sufficient as the
petition does bear more than the required 1897 valid signatures.
I am aware that there are questions regarding whether the subject matter of the
Resolution is of an administrative nature and thus, not subject to referendum. I
did not view the determination of this issue to be within my jurisdiction which is
limited to a determination of a sufficient number of valid signatures contained in
the petition.
Along with this report, I am tendering to you the petitions for deposit in the
Clerk to the Board Office and for the Boards further action.

RE: Petition to Initiate Amendment to Home Rule Charter for Weld County
Commissioners:
Pursuant to the requirements of the Weld County Home Rule Charter and the Colorado
Election Law, the Petition to Initiate Amendment to the Home Rule Charter for Weld
County filed by the Concerned Citizens for Weld County' s Future Committee
represented by W. D. Farr, Robert G. Tointon and Thomas E. Hellerich has been
reviewed along with the supplemental petitions and amended circulator affidavits.
The results of the review are as follows:
Sufficient signatures 2816
Insufficient signatures 1217
Pursuant to the requirements of the Weld County Home Rule Charter and Colorado
Election Law, the number of valid signatures appear to be sufficient as the
petition does bear more than the required 1897 valid signatures.
I am aware that there are questions regarding whether the subject matter of the
proposed charter amendment is of an administrative nature and thus, not subject to
an initiative. I did not view the determination of this issue to be within my
jurisdiction which is limited to a determination of whether a sufficient number of
valid signatures is contained in the petition.
Along with this report, I am tendering to you the petitions for deposit in the
Clerk to the Board Office and for the Boards further action.
