RESOLUTION IN RE CLOSING OF WELD COUNTY COURTHOUSE ON SATURDAY MORNINGS
ON A TRIAL BASIS
Commissioner Andersen offered the following Resolution and moved
its adoption:
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has had under con-
sideration for several months a proposition of closing the Weld County
Courthouse on Saturday mornings so that all persons employed in the respective
Courts and offices of the County will work on a uniform 40-hour week, and
WHEREAS, an investigation conducted by this Board in all
surrounding counties which have closed their respective Courthouses on
Saturday mornings reveals that no inconvenience to the public has been
created by closing on Saturday mornings, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Board that closing of the
Courthouse on Saturday mornings will either eliminate or drastically reduce
payment to the County employees for over-time employment, and
WHEREAS. the County Vehicle Licensing Department of the County
Clerk and Recorder's office has been closed on Saturday mornings since
January of 1958 with no apparent inconvenience to the public, and
WHEREAS. this Board deems it advisable to close the Weld County
Courthouse on Saturday mornings on a temporary basis in an effort to
determine whether benefits will accrue from the closing of said Courthouse
on Saturday mornings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Weld County Courthouse
and all offices therein be closed on Saturday mornings on a temporary basis
commencing July 18, 1959, and on each Saturday morning thereafter for a
period of three months from said date at which time this Board will determine
