HomeMy WebLinkAbout570012.tiff • RESOLUTION IN RE CLOSING OF WELD COUNTY COURTHOUSE ON SATURDAY MORNINGS ON A TRIAL BASIS Commissioner Andersen offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has had under con- sideration for several months a proposition of closing the Weld County Courthouse on Saturday mornings so that all persons employed in the respective Courts and offices of the County will work on a uniform 40-hour week, and WHEREAS, an investigation conducted by this Board in all surrounding counties which have closed their respective Courthouses on Saturday mornings reveals that no inconvenience to the public has been created by closing on Saturday mornings, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of this Board that closing of the Courthouse on Saturday mornings will either eliminate or drastically reduce payment to the County employees for over-time employment, and WHEREAS. the County Vehicle Licensing Department of the County Clerk and Recorder's office has been closed on Saturday mornings since January of 1958 with no apparent inconvenience to the public, and WHEREAS. this Board deems it advisable to close the Weld County Courthouse on Saturday mornings on a temporary basis in an effort to determine whether benefits will accrue from the closing of said Courthouse on Saturday mornings. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Weld County Courthouse and all offices therein be closed on Saturday mornings on a temporary basis commencing July 18, 1959, and on each Saturday morning thereafter for a period of three months from said date at which time this Board will determine 6 '7t)s"t - - 2 - whether the Courthouse and the offices therein should be closed on Saturday mornings on a permanent basis or whether on the other hand the same should remain open from 8:00 A.M. until noon on Saturdays. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the office hours for all offices affected by this Resolution are hereby established as being from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. , Monday through Friday. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that this Resolution A$j/%/4y{4/does not affect the working conditions or hours of employment of the Road and Bridge crews of the respective commissioner districts and the hours of the county shop crew which have been heretofore established by Resolution Number 22 File No. 2149, passed and adopted December 28, 1957.
