RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY ROAD 8 AT
WELD COUNTY ROAD 19
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Engineering Department has recommended to the
Board that "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs be installed on Weld County Road 8 at
Weld County Road 19, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said traffic control devices are
necessary for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Department of Engineering be, and hereby is, directed
to install "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs on Weld County Road 8 at Weld County
Road 19, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to
the State manual and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 8th day of August, A.D. , 1994.

Traffic Control Devices
Subject:
It has been brought to the attention of the Public Works Department that there is a need to upgrade
the traffic control devices at the intersection of WCR 8 and WCR 19. Both roadways are gravel and
the sight distance is extremely limited from all three directions.
It is the recommendation of this Department that an additional stop sign be placed on WCR 8
westbound onto WCR 19 for the safety of the traveling public. Your consideration of an appropriate
resolution is respectfully requested.
All signing will conform to the standards of the manual on uniform traffic control devices (see
attached diagram).
