RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING REQUEST FOR VACATION OF
PORTION OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 87
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has received a request from Loyd Farms for
the vacation of Weld County Road 87 between Weld County Roads 134
and 136 , and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it advisable to refer said request
to the Engineering Department, the Road and Bridge Department, and
Bruce Barker, Assistant County Attorney, for their
recommendations, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request of Loyd
Farms for the vacation of Weld County Road 87 between Weld County
Road 134 and 136 be, and hereby is, referred to the Engineering
Department, the Road and Bridge Department, and the County
Attorney' s Office for their recommendations.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 9th day of
April, A.D. , 1990.

RESOLUTION
RE: DENIAL OF VACATION OF A PORTION OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 87
BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROADS 134 AND 136.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County ,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on October 15, 1979, the Board of County Commis-
sioners of Weld County, Colorado considered the petition of
Jesse E. Loyd to vacate a portion of Weld County Road 87 between
Weld County Roads 134 and 136, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners heard the testi-
mony and evidence presented in this matter, and
WHEREAS, the Board, having considered said testimony and
evidence presented and having considered the recommendations
of the Weld County Department of Engineering Services, finds
that said request should be denied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the request of Jesse E.
Loyd to vacate a portion of Weld County Road 87 between Weld
County Roads 134 and 136 be, and hereby is, denied .
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 15th day of
October, A.D. , 1979 .

Subject: Petition to Vacate Weld County Road 87
The petition requests vacation of Weld County Road 87 between Weld
County Road 134 and 136. No reason was given.
The attached traffic ount indicates a very high usage at the north
end (ADT=539) but this was primarily due to corn hauling in the area.
At the south end (ADT=8) would be more typical .
COMMENTS:
A) Granting this request would be contrary to the concept of reserving
section lines for County roads.
B) Vacation could land-lock portions of the land in the future.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the petition be denied.
